HSF Technology Value

Cyril Bath's innovative Hot Stretch Forming technology was developed to offer a cost-effective forming solution for titanium airframe components.  The process can create significant value compared to other fabrication techniques, especially if the components are longer than 8 feet and utilize a consistent geometric profile.  Shorter parts can be Hot Stretch Formed economically, if you consider the possibility of making a multiple part length in one HSF processed piece, then cutting to final length after Hot Stretch Forming.

All of these types of airframe components require CNC machining and finishing after the forming process.  The Cyril Bath HSF technology has proven to allow for final machining without significant movement during or after machining or shot peening.  This valuable benefit is the result of our patented forming process that removes most of the residual stress caused by forming stresses during the part contour step.
